Hild's latest hobby: Rockpainting

Actually Hild shares this with her sister Kristin. They took up this common hobby during a trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Hild can often be heard lamenting about the great rock selection one can find in the rivers up there. Below are a few early selections of what they both produced.... fun fun fun!

Three sliver bugs - in varying moods!

We can thoroughly recommend anybody taking up this hobby - provided they can get their hands on acrylic paint, paintbrushes, rocks, and woodfiller (to fix imperfections, dents and cracks in the rocks, because the perfect rock is still out there waiting to be found). Now when we see a beautiful waterfall or river - all we can see are potential rock-houses on the shores... It also makes us look closely at houses around us - to come up with new ideas for doors, roofs, windows, signs, colours, and so on. Just lately I've also started spotting bugs for ideas!!!

The thrill is in the outdoor hunt for rocks as well as the fact that you can finish a house, a bug or even a tree quite quickly (if you choose one that you could actually carry home in your hand). No more spending 3 years to finish knitting a sweater (eh, Hild?)
