Longueuil - Ottawa 264 km. 3:48 hours. Elevation maximum 100 metres
Well, we made it home - a somewhat non-direct route as we wanted to avoid crossing the St Laurence River for as long as we could and take a bit of a different route as we have driven from Montreal to Ottawa on a few occasions now.

We were very aware of how much both of us had driven and in trying to make it as even as possible, Hild drove from Longueuil up to the Ontario border (where there was a nice rest stop) and Rob drove on to Morrisburg (for lunch) and then the rest of the way back to Ottawa.
Celebrating returning to Ontario, we also took some photos to amuse Rob's family who lived in Cornwall, UK, for a long time.
We picked Morrisburg as a lunch spot because it was a good place to "turn the corner" and drive up to Ottawa, but Hild found a lovely park with a roofed area with picnic tables. It is hot hot hot today so shade was very important - especially as we had to cook pancakes.... We had been robbed of our planned pancake day when the walk in Forillon turned out to be a bit (more accurately, a lot) longer than planned and we were too tired to cook. Since then, we have not had a chance to get the Trangia out as hotel managers are not too keen on you cooking on a meths stove on the 5th floor, don't know why. Anyway, we were going to make pancakes and brew tea even if it was over 30 degrees, so the shade was just what we needed.
Lunch was longer than usual as - in addition to making pancakes and eating the rest of the rolls, yoghurts, biscuits etc. - we took some photos of the gang. This gang was originally going to be dog breeds from each province (Labrador, Newfoundland - you get it?), but not only were we stuck for dog breeds from New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, we couldn't find nice little cuddly versions of Nova Scotia Duck Tollers, or even Labradors and Newfies! It was all Huskies and Poodles, hmmph. So, as you hopefully remember, we picked up Mr Potato Head, Pelle, Bonhomme, Tammy, and Gulliver as well as building Laban and now it was time for a photo shoot with the full line-up.
Of course we couldn't forget the orginal car mascot Yogi or Carl and Dave (the Minions who try to photo-bomb when they get the chance) - and by now we almost need a bigger car!
On the final approach to our condo building, we compared the progress at the construction site across the road from us. Hmmmm. Not much difference there. Maybe one extra floor? Hopefully they are making good progress inside.
And now the moment you have all been waiting for (well, we were waiting for it anyway) - who drove the longest...

Rob drove 6,213.3 and Hild drove 6,212.9! Rounded up - it was a tie!

When we entered our apartment, JR had left us a welcoming sight: Grogu holding our renewed Canadian Permanent Residency cards. So we can't stay here permanently but another 5 years if needs be.

Check out the Nerdy Page for the full numbers - Sailing, Driving, Walking, Cycling, Species seen (and eaten!) as well as all kinds of other things Hild will come up with. And probably a few more videos now that we are not bandwidth limited - editing videos online can be slow if you don't have a very fast connection. Hope we haven't bored you too much - this is really just for us to remember what we did because if we aren't careful we forget what happened. Just as Hild's motto is "If you don't count, you don't count", Rob goes by "If you didn't write it down, it didn't happen." OK, he is referring to inspecting field trials, but it sort of works.....
