Isle of Islay to Glasgow Driving 216.7 km in 3:43 hours to max elevation of 274 metres.

We got up early to enjoy another camping breakfast in the morning sun.
The tent and all our belongings were packed up quickly and easily although
we needed to use some citronella to scare away midges.

A 40-minute drive and we were in Port Ellen where the ferry departs from.
A shout-out to Hild's aunt, Anne, who was born in Port Ellen. We enjoyed the
view from the ferry queue, and we had explored the town the day before too.

MS Finlaggan arrived to pick us up.

First 20 cars were loaded and then they lifted that bit of the
deck up in the air. Rather alarmingly Percy had to sit under that deck during the
trip across the sea. Ugh. Doesn't look very safe!

Rob secured us a desk onboard MS Finlaggan so we could work for an hour or so.
We also made sure we had time to explore the ship - and as usual Rob found stairs.
This ship is much nicer than the Isle of Arran ship we arrived on. The interior
looked alot like the ferry from Aberdeen to Lerwick - although much smaller.

Sign seen onboard: "No Lashings". Our thinking is: What if they had been
very naughty and deserved a good lashing?!

Back on the mainland, we drove through the town of Ardrisshaig where police and people
were waiting to see Princess Anne. Thankfully she must have been inside the community
hall and interruptions to traffic was minimal. We drove on.

We had no time to stop and be tourists today.
We stopped in the town of Inverary for lunch. There was no time to linger so we
just grabbed a photo of famous Inverary Castle on our way out of town.

There was a scheduled meeting Rob had to take - so we stopped at
Duck Bay on Loch Lomond. Hild also got quite a bit of work done during
the stop. Percy is the best office! No photos.
