It was time to take a break from travelling - by travelling in a different way:
we set off towards Aberdeen this morning to fly to Norway. Time to visit
the family in Valle again. A spur of the moment decision partly because
it is so easy to take a one-hour flight from Aberdeen to Stavanger.

Before breakfast, we packed up the tent while fighting off a lot of midges.
The fly sheet on the tent was still quite wet, but thankfully the inner tent was
dry. Very good! We chatted with fellow campers while having breakfast in the
common facilities - away from midges.

The drive from Loch Lomond to Aberdeen airport was easy and we had time
for picnic lunch in a park outside Dundee. Percy also got his tank topped
when we dropped by "our" familiar Tesco petrol station in Westhill
outside Aberdeen.

When we reached Aberdeen Airport we found the parking lot where we had
booked Percy in for his 10-day stay while we fly to Norway. He was a bit
dismayed that the car park was not under cover and not on tarmac but on gravel.
We told him he'll be OK
- and hoped the sun wouldn't be too hot on him. Poor guy. For us it was
an easy five-minute walk over to the terminal, waited half-an-hour for our
bag-drop to open and another hour for our gate to open.

Then we boarded our SAS plane and were happy to hear from the pilot
that because of tailwind our trip across the north sea was only going
to take 45 minutes. Nice!

After getting our hirecar all packed up, we left Stavanger at 20:00.
This is a bit late since our drive to Valle is around 3 hours. At least
it is summer so the sun didn't set til around 23:00.

We arrived at Adelheid's before dark and Bjørnar was there too!
It was wonderful to be together again.
